Some traditional Archers prefer to use a classic Flemish Twist string which has only an invisible knot at the center serving. This string has woven strands at both ends which, because of their twist, form and hold the end loops by  torque and friction. Both types are composed of several strands of fibers. Most bowstring fibers we use these days are synthetic materials, but there are still a few string makers who use plant and animal fibers. All of Orion Bowstrings are hand crafted in the U.S.A. and so are the fibers we use.
